Public Works outlines the next tender for bus concessions that will serve the regions of La Marina and the Alicante-Elche area.

The Department of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility will soon put out to tender the concessions of public transport services for passengers and bus travelers for the Marina Alta.

As reported by the head of Transport of the Generalitat, after the meeting he held on this topic with the regional secretary of Public Works, Transport and Mobility, María Pérez, "it will be possible to advance in these tenders by authorizing the Plenary of the Consell tomorrow, the contracts for the 'CV-202, La Marina-Alacant' concessions; 'CV-211, Elche-Rodalía', and 'CV-302, València-Alacant / Elx', "a necessary procedure when exceeding these three contracts, the 12 million euros," she explained.

These three concessions, the minister stressed, «They will meet the mobility needs of 39 municipalities with a population of more than 2,1 million inhabitants. Likewise, he recalled that "these services are part of the new regional interurban public transport network that the Department has designed for greater efficiency and sustainability of the system and with the aim of promoting public transport."

CV-202: Marina Alta – Marina Baixa – Alacant

The Les Marines-Alalacant concession amounts to 32.434.241 euros and serves Alicante, El Campello, Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Dénia, Xàbia, Pedreguer, Gata de Gorgos, Teulada, Benissa, Benitatxell, Calp, Benidorm, La Vila Joiosa, Callosa d´En Sarriá, Altea, Polop, La Nucia, and L´Alfas del Pi, with a population of about 740.000 inhabitants.

This service structures the mobility relations between the main nuclei of the functional areas of La Marina Alta and La Marina Baixa with the urban area of ​​Alicante, and its main nodes: Alicante-Elche airport, ADIF Alicante station (AVE) and University of Alicante.

The concession will have a minimum endowment of 14 buses that will carry out about 2,1 million commercial kilometers and 32.150 expeditions per year, which is equivalent to an average of 88 daily expeditions. Most of the expeditions have Benidorm as a structuring and polarizing nucleus.

To give a more complete service, Expressways are articulated to centers of great tourist relevance such as Calp, Altea, Dénia, Xàbia, or Teulada, with a connection to the airport that they currently lack. Likewise, the service with Alicante is improved, in towns such as Vila Joiosa, Callosa d'en Sarriá, l'Alfás del Pi and la Nucia.
