The Marina Alta registers half a thousand more unemployed people after the end of the tourist season

November 18 from 2022 - 17: 50

The Marina Alta Observatory of CREAMA and PACTE'MA has published the latest employment data in the region for the month of October. The agency has offered a crude analysis of the latest figures, since the Marina Alta has registered a total of 492 more unemployed compared to the month of September.

This increases the number of unemployed to 9.978 people in the region. In this way, it is positioned as the second territory with the highest increase in job seekers in the province of Alicante (+5,19%), behind Marina Baixa (+6,19%).

This data casts a negative picture in a territory like the Marina Alta, closely linked to jobs linked to the service sector typical of the tourist season. Although the monthly variation in October shows a balance of 492 more unemployed people, which makes the Marina Alta the region with the second highest increase in the number of job seekers, however, the annual variation of applicants reflects a reduction of 19,98%. Being the second region with the best interannual evolution behind the Marina Baixa.

In addition, October is a month in which unemployment has historically risen in the Marina Alta due to the end of the summer campaign, and despite the fact that this monthly variation is around that of a pre-crisis year (+5,19%), the total number of 9.978 job seekers is the lowest value for a month of October in the historical series.

In this sense, a slowdown in activity in the labor market in the region is glimpsed. While unemployment falls in October in the national group (this is the second time in the historical series that unemployment has fallen in a month of October, together with October 2021). The Valencian Community, province of Alicante, and in particular the Marina Alta, drag increases in job seekers in relation to the month of September. To this is added to the region the drop in hiring and reduction in affiliations by 13,50% and 0,30% respectively, while they increase in the province and in the Valencian territory as a whole.

By calculating the unemployment rate, in the Marina Alta, a slight increase (+0,6%) is once again observed compared to September, reaching an estimated unemployment rate of 14,29%.

Solutions must be sought immediately, this situation cannot happen every year. The summer season is over and many citizens are left without work. Search for a strategic plan on the part of the authorities, businessmen and us as citizens to contribute ideas to achieve change in this repetitive process for many years. You have to work all year, with the respective rest and legal vacations.
Citizens deserve to have job stability,

It would be necessary to start thinking about recovering what was lost and despised by drifting everything towards satisfying the snout and tourism.
Agriculture has ended, industry practically does not exist, construction has almost stopped due to bureaucracy, etc. Etc. Not to mess up the weekend. Less small talk, fewer committees, fewer serious names and less »compromises, less parties named workers and more looking to provide means so that the worker is not left without his means, that he does not need the charity of being subsidized. Less politicians and those with income consistent with the current reality and subject to their income statements. Definitely.:
MORE TO DO and less “we are going to do”.
Paellas are already very good all over the world and there aren't that many red prawns.
You have to push yourself to devise something more than gastronomy, which must continue to be pampered, as the only resource apart from the sun and sea that nature gives us.
Which by the way also asks for help.
One-time solution to harmonize the sea/sand/building coexistence.
    Prevention of forest fires.
channeling of floods and use of these waters.
Let's say, if I'm not too wrong. If this is possible and if the Consistory believes that it is worth considering. Excuse me if anyone feels bothered, my interest is not to annoy but to collaborate as much as possible even if it is by giving my opinion and even if I do not do it with the rightness that is required.

César, I have not seen a more sensible comment than yours. If you ran in the election, you would have my vote. I wish some of the politicians shared your opinion!

      • Years says:

I also applaud César's words. Very well said!

      • Luis says:

People like César will never have access even to work by opening the door of the City Hall public bathroom. He is good, honest and intelligent. Haven't you realized yet what are the necessary characteristics to access to work in any City Council? That's how everything goes wrong. On the other hand, César is absolutely right, but he has been telling himself the same thing for a long time and nothing ever changes. Do you remember the first months of confinement? Ohhhh we have to change the economic model!!!! You can't live on tourism alone!!! You can't continue speculating on real estate, building for tourists and destroying our environment!!!
What's up? Now they don't even remember what they said, they are still in the same positions and collecting such gifted salaries and giving licenses on the seafront, in the middle of forests, natural parks and any corner that they can destroy without ruffling their hair.
