The Marina Alta registers the biggest drop in unemployment in a month in the last decade

15 December 2022 - 08: 00

The Marina Alta Observatory of CREAMA and PACTE'MA has published the latest employment data in the region for the month of November. The agency has determined that the number of unemployed registered in the offices of the public employment services in the Marina Alta fell by 597 unemployed, reaching the overall figure of 9.381 unemployed people in the region.

For this reason, the Observatori affirms that the labor market continues to maintain unusual stability despite the ups and downs of the economy. This fall in the number of job seekers in November is the largest drop in a month of November in the last decade (practically -6,0% compared to October), leading this month the drop in unemployment compared to the national group (-1,15, 4,32%), the Valencian Community (-3,27%) and the province of Alicante (-XNUMX%).

Unemployment falls while affiliation holds in the month of November. There is a stagnation of the occupation in the Marina Alta with 607 fewer affiliates to Social Security. Despite this, this data connects with November of previous years, where the number of contributors suffered similar or even higher variations, with job destruction of around 2% in pre-crisis years (employment fell by an average of 721 contributors). Therefore, we are in a better November than usual in terms of occupancy, better than in the 2015-2018 period.

Regarding the number of affiliates to Social Security, we are facing the fourth consecutive month of decline. In November it decreased by 607 people, standing at 59.234 affiliated people, which means a drop of 1,01% compared to the previous month. If the reduction experienced since August is added, the total reduction in these four months compared to July has been practically 7%, 4.490 fewer affiliations.

If the affiliate data is compared at the provincial and regional level, the region is badly off, since in these the affiliations behave in a flat way with respect to October, while, in the Marina Alta, this reduction of 1 percentage point is observed.

The interannual variation of employment in November stood at 5,34%. This translates into positive annual employment growth. When compared with the historical series, it is verified that it is a positive growth, which is equivalent to an increase in the number of affiliated people in the last year of 3.002 people. Compared to the difficult year of 2020, the improvement skyrockets with a percentage increase of 12,40% and a total of 6.555 more affiliated people.

Of course, but to say it all, on these dates a lot of people are hired in stores and in public relations for the sales, from November to February it is like that, and I know it first-hand, several stores even double their workforce on these dates, yes , on February 1, everyone will be unemployed, it is not interesting to say this in the face of the elections, right? It has to look like they saved our lives, right?
