The Ministry of Health has just published the new coronavirus data in the Valencian Community in which the Marina Alta adds 14 new infections since the last update on Friday, April 23.
The number of infections has remained relatively low for weeks, but today's negative figure is due to the cumulative incidence, which is no longer at the 'New Normal' levels (less than 20 for 14 days) and stands at 27,37 per XNUMX inhabitants. This is a low-risk level.
By population, the new infections correspond to Dénia (5 new cases), Xàbia (4 new cases) and Calp (6 new cases). In total, the capital of the Marina Alta has registered 3066 infections since the beginning of the pandemic and currently has a cumulative incidence of 33,2, while Xàbia has registered a total of 1454 cases since March 2020 and its accumulated incidence is at 50,72, another big increase since a week ago it stood at 18 and last Friday at 36 per one hundred thousand inhabitants.
In the case of Calp, which has been accumulating new infections for weeks and on April 15, it registered an outbreak of social origin, accumulates 1231 infections and currently its cumulative incidence rises to 66,01.
The three most populated municipalities in the region are the ones that mark this increase in the accumulated incidence in the Marina Alta. The remaining 30 municipalities, however, have not registered new infections and maintain their cumulative incidence below 10 per hundred thousand inhabitants.
The number of cases that are currently active also rises from last weekend to today, from 40 to 47. In total, the Marina Alta has registered 9841 positive cases and 201 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
