This past Saturday, February 1, the II Local Commerce Gala and the presentation of the II Ondara Local Commerce Awards were held at El Prado de Ondara; an event organized by the ACO (Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of Ondara) and the Ondara City Council, which included a dinner and a gala in which different awards were given in recognition of local commerce. This gala, initially scheduled for November 2024, had to be postponed due to the DANA.
It is worth mentioning that during the gala, the cheque for 4.000 euros that the merchants' association has raised in favour of those affected by the DANA, through the zero line, the Christmas basket and other actions carried out, was presented. The money raised was given to the merchants' association of Paiporta. Among the solidarity actions, the initiative of the Eclipse beauty and tattoo centre also stood out, which contributed 1.200 euros.
The event was attended by a large number of Ondara traders, headed by the president of ACO, Inma Peiró. The II Local Trade Gala and the presentation of the II Ondara Local Trade Awards had the institutional support of the City Council and the participation of the Mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro; the person responsible for Economic Promotion and Trade, Raquel Mengual, and members of the municipal corporation.
The winners of the 2nd Ondara Local Trade Awards were the following:
- Category “Trade-Innovative Company”: Mondverd
- Category “Sustainable Business-Trade”: Renewable Energy HG
- “Young Business-Commerce” Category: La Dinaora – Bergante
- ACO Special Award for Business Career: Luansa
- Special ACO Woman Merchant Award: M.ª Dolores Mesas (Gal·la's)
- ACO Special Award for a life dedicated to commerce: Juan Almiñana and Rosa García (Video J)
- Special ACO recognition: Eugenio García (Cortines Estarca), posthumously
The jury for the 2nd Ondara Local Commerce Awards was made up of members of the Ondara City Council and the ACO Association. The ACO Special Awards were awarded directly by the association.
