Last week the Spanish absolute individual and regional rhythmic gymnastics championships were held in Avilés. The two CG Les Marines gymnasts, Laia Martínez and Katya Trukhacheva, went there along with their technical team. Katya managed to place 11th in Spain in the most demanding category, while Laia obtained the title of runner-up in Spain by autonomy.
Katya broke the ice with her hoop exercise, with which she placed 12th. On Friday it was the turn of the maces, an exercise with which she once again placed herself among the fifteen best in Spain. Trukhacheva closed her participation on Saturday with the ball exercise. With the sum of the three exercises, Katya placed eleventh in Spain in the junior category out of a total of 66 gymnasts, a more than creditable position, since this is one of the categories with the highest level of the entire competition.
For her part, Laia Martínez made her debut at the absolute individual level with the free hands exercise, classifying 16th. On Friday it was the hoop's turn, an exercise with which she placed 15th. To close her first absolute national, she defended her ball exercise, with which she managed to close a competition without errors and demonstrating her great projection.
With these results, Laia contributed her two best marks to the competition for autonomy, which led her to be proclaimed Runner-up in Spain.
The club is very proud of the results obtained, since it is a competition with a very high level and they have managed to place their two gymnasts among the best in the country. They also want to thank the entire coaching staff, especially Saray, Mariona and Yana for their work during the competition days, as well as Club Sport Ritmic for their support.
