"The Generalitat bets in its accounts for this province, since it will have the largest territorialized investment in the history of Alicante," said the Minister of Finance and Economic Model, Arcadi Spain, last Tuesday when presenting the 2023 budgets for the province .

In this way, the Generalitat will increase territorialized investments in the province to 610 million euros, close to 40% of the total resources allocated to direct and indirect investments that the Consell has territorialized in the 2023 budgets and which reach 1.531,7 ,XNUMX million euros.

With the aim of "improving care for Alicante citizens, especially in terms of fundamental public services" in 2023 more than 54,1% of the resources allocated to the province and, specifically, 330 million euros, will be allocated to construction of new educational, health and hospital centers, as well as the improvement, rehabilitation and equipment of the same, with the territorialized items of Education and Health being the highest in the province of Alicante.

The economic reactivation, the creation of employment and the commitment to science and innovation "to contribute to increasing the GDP of the province and help companies in Alicante to face inflation in a year like the current one marked by the rise prices" are also present in the budget, allocating more than 39 million euros to the main productive sectors of Alicante such as Tourism, Economy with close to 15 million territorialized, while the agri-food sector and water infrastructures will have 61,6 million of euros.

Added to this is the significant investment effort of the Consell in public works, which in the 2023 budgets will allocate 1 out of every 2 euros (49,1%) from the territorialized investments of the Department of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility to Alicante, reaching 148,7 million euros.

Concrete investments for the Marina Alta

During his speech, Arcadi España highlighted that the Generalitat will reinforce educational policies in Alicante next year with 148 million euros earmarked for educational infrastructure through the improvement and rehabilitation of educational and training centers, as well as the construction of new ones. primary and secondary education centers through the Pla Edificant.

For the next academic year, the free school canteen will also be guaranteed to students from the municipalities affected by the fires this summer, such as Vall d'Ebo and Petrer, and culture will continue to be promoted "as an economic engine and an essential asset", for which reason they have strengthened the collaboration agreements with the Provincial Council of Alicante to provide the ADDA (1 million), the Misteri d'Elx (100.000 euros) with greater cultural content; or the Palmeral d'Elx (200.000 euros).

For its part, the first vice-presidency and the Ministry of Equality and Inclusive Policies will begin in 2023, with a budget of 5,6 million, the works of the first public residential mental health center, which will be located in Dénia, as well as the “Campoamor” day center for the elderly in Alicante with (5 million), becoming the first public center in the city.

The investment in both the Marina Alta and the Marina Baja also stands out by promoting works such as the second public residence for the elderly in Dénia; the day center for the elderly in Altea, Xaló, Gata de Gorgos and Calp or the residence for people with functional diversity in Pedreguer, with a joint endowment of 24 million euros.

On the other hand, part of the Next Generation Funds will be allocated to promoting tourism in the Valley of Pop. Just as specific tourism revitalization and governance plans are contemplated in 2023 for the Vall d'Ebo area that was affected by the forest fires this past summer, for an amount of 270.000 euros.
