The Generalitat has activated a platform to streamline the Registration of volunteers in coordination with the town councils affected by the DANA so that, from this Tuesday, they can register, which can be accessed from the web We are solidarity.
The Vice-Presidency and Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing, in collaboration with the Volunteer Platform of the Valencian Community, channels the daily requests for personnel from the town councils, with whom it contacts beforehand to coordinate and find out how many civilian personnel are required on each day.
The system works in the same way as platforms for purchasing museum tickets or requesting medical appointments, so that each volunteer can reserve the day and time slot in which they want to contribute their humanitarian work.
Once the number of staff required for each day has been reached, the system does not allow subscriptions until subsequent days, depending on municipal demand.
After signing up, volunteers must go directly to the volunteer coordination point set up in the City of Arts and Sciences, collect the equipment provided by the Generalitat and get on the assigned bus.
The aim of this digital system is to channel and optimise the enormous wave of solidarity that has emerged in Valencian civil society to participate in the clean-up tasks of the municipalities devastated by the DANA. Since the beginning of the catastrophe, the Generalitat has mobilised more than 12.500 volunteers.
