After two years of pandemic, Calp once again celebrates the Christmas Fair that will take place from December 5 to 8 in the streets of the old town. This is the 8th edition of this event which, as its main novelty, makes a strong commitment to entertainment activities and street shows.
To this end, two companies have been hired, Xperience 37 and Espectacles David, who will be in charge of putting on three traveling shows, four children's workshops (tattoos, face painting, key chains and soap bubbles) in Beato Sendra square, a magic performance, as well as another theater. In addition, there will be a wooden carousel in the Plaza de la Villa, traditional games and a traveling wooden booth with Santa Claus.
The schedule of street shows will be completed with performances offered by different local associations, such as two Zumba and bachata demonstrations with Gloria Fernández "Salsa en Calpe", batukada by Clau de Fa, British Christmas carols by the Caprice Choir, a Christmas concert by the Ifach Choir, as well as another by the Rondalla de Calp, several dance performances by Salsea Calpe, Marcia's Dance Studio and Casa de Andalucía, which will also give a flamenco workshop, a mini-concert by the Unió Musical Calp-Ifach and another by the Rondalla, in addition to different parades offered by the xaranga la Xarlotà, the Unió Musical Calp-Ifach and the colla de Xirimiters El Carellot. Two airtrack and acrobatics performances are also planned by the “Saltimbanqui” Circus School.
At the fair there will be 35 stalls from shops, hoteliers and various local associations that will sell items and typical Christmas sweets. Three of these stalls will offer bar service by the Almogávares filà, which holds the Christian captaincy, the Tuareg filà, which holds the position of standard-bearer for the Moors and Christians Santíssim Crist de la Suor association, as well as the Brotherhood of Jesus Nazareth of Calp.
The fair, which is organized by the Calp City Council, through the departments of Revitalization of the Old Town, Economic Promotion and Citizen Participation, in addition to Creama-Calp, will be open from 11 a.m. to 22 p.m. and the inauguration will take place on Monday December 5 at 18:XNUMX p.m.
