The Provincial Council invests 5,4 million euros in the Marina Alta in energy saving and sustainability

21 October 2022 - 15: 41

During the current legislature, the Alicante Provincial Council has invested more than 5,4 million euros in the Marina Alta to carry out different actions and projects related to environmental protection, energy efficiency and care for the environment. This was highlighted this morning by the deputy responsible for the area, Miguel Ángel Sánchez, during his visit to Xàbia to the installation works of LED lights and new charging points for electric vehicles, financed entirely by the provincial institution.

“The Diputación is fully committed to the Environment. For this reason, year after year we notably increase our budget to help city councils to promote sustainability and promote actions related to recycling and the use of renewable energies", said the deputy, who was accompanied on his tour by the deputy from the Juan Bautista Roselló region.

Among the most notable investments are the 1,6 million euros for the execution of the projects included in the Provincial Energy Savings Plan, an important economic package that includes, among other actions, the installation of charging points for electric vehicles and photovoltaic panels for self-consumption, the renovation of public lighting systems or the performance of works to improve the thermal behavior of municipal buildings.

Regarding this program, Sánchez announced that the Environment Area is already working on the call for the next PAE, "an item that in the ordinary budget will be endowed with 250.000 euros for the drafting of projects and that, later, will incorporate through the remaining five million euros more for the execution of the same”.

Especially significant is also the item of 1,2 million euros focused on the promotion of sustainable mobility and the reduction of atmospheric pollution. For this purpose, the institution has supplied 40 100% electric vehicles to 31 towns in the region.

In addition, between 2019 and 2022, the Alicante Provincial Council has allocated nearly 1,4 million euros to the creation, maintenance, conservation and improvement of natural landscapes and green spaces and more than 466.000 euros to collaborate with the municipalities of the area in the management of its urban solid waste.

“Thanks to the aid and extraordinary effort of the Diputación de Alicante, the towns of the Marina Alta can undertake important projects and carry out actions that not only favor the protection of the environment, but also result in the improvement of the quality of life of our neighbors, men and women”, said Juan Bautista Roselló.

The control of dipterans -flies and mosquitoes- and the sterilization of urban colonies of cats without owners or the supply of children's games, benches and litter bins for equipping parks, gardens or recreation areas are other of the many actions that the provincial institution has subsidized in the region throughout the present
legislature.

Xàbia

Through the Provincial Energy Savings Plan, the Alicante Provincial Council has invested 60.000 euros in Xàbia to carry out the project to install six recharging points for electric vehicles in the Portal del Clot parking area. The action, recently completed, has also included the replacement of the old public lighting with new LED technology luminaires on the Guardia road and on Requeret, Garsa de Mar and Falzia streets.

In this sense, the Minister for the Environment highlighted the relevance of this investment program "which is promoted by the Provincial Council and which allows us to develop actions aimed at optimizing the electricity consumption of our municipalities and reducing their CO² emissions into the atmosphere, with the consequent and significant reduction of the carbon footprint”.

Finally, Sánchez recalled other provincial subsidies that the town has received throughout this legislature, such as the 54.794 euros destined for the acquisition of two 100% electric vehicles or the 14.175 euros for the control of dipterans and the sterilization of urban colonies. ownerless cats.

It seems good to me, that characters from our history are remembered, like the one mentioned in the new plaque of a square. Arab leader (born in Spain), nicknamed d'Al Azraq, apart from his military confrontations with the Christian kingdoms and kings (his mother was Christian). History is history, and this character dates from the XNUMXth century.
What is not plausible is that now the rest is being erased, mainly that of our great-great-grandparents, grandparents, siblings and even children, with aberrant actions, which go further than changing a license plate. Arriving at sacrilegious situations of mistreating mortal remains with mockery and music band, with great media and festive display typical of uncivilized hordes and great pain of the bereaved,
