The Provincial Council against the prohibition of Bous al carrer will allocate 100.000 euros to the security of the party

20 September 2022 - 13: 31

Next year 2023, the Diputación de Alicante will activate a line of aid that could reach 100.000 euros for municipalities that celebrate the Bous al carrer. This money will be used, as announced by the president of the provincial institution, Carlos Mazón, to reinforce security measures in the celebration of the festivities. In this context, the president has taken the opportunity to show his rejection of the prohibition of such an event.

This is how Mazón transferred it this morning to the president of the Federation of Bullfighting Clubs Bous al Carrer de la Comunitat Valenciana, Germán Zaragoza, during the meeting held at the Diputación. The meeting was also attended on behalf of this entity by Carlos Casilda, as vice president, and Javier Gómez, as coordinator in Alicante.

"The way to prevent accidents from occurring in these bullfighting festivities cannot be that of prohibition but rather that of information, awareness and reinforcement of security measures", the Alicante president stressed. For this reason, he has announced the start-up next year of a call for subsidies aimed at improving that security.

Provincial Proposals

The aid, which has advanced will range between 80.000 and 100.000 euros, will cover, among other aspects, the acquisition of identification bracelets and walkie talkies for the volunteers, emergency stretchers for the transfer of the wounded, the publication of informative brochures in several languages or the installation of sirens and other warning mechanisms.

In this sense, Mazón has reiterated that "the objective is to adopt all possible measures that help improve security, information, awareness and prevention and to count on the involvement of all: municipalities, federation and participants".

"The greater the security, the greater the coverage of the policies"

The president added that the reinforcement of security will also have a positive impact on the coverage of insurance policies. "The best thing we can do to make it easier for these events to have good insurance is to initially reinforce security," he pointed out.

For his part, the president of the bullfighting clubs has stressed the importance of security measures to prevent accidents or carelessness from occurring. “As organizers of these bullfighting festivities, what we want is for everything to go well and what better way than to count on the county councils and town halls to reach all the towns of the Community and provide coverage to all fans”, he indicated. Zaragoza, who has advanced that in the near future they will also meet with the councils of Valencia and Castellón, in addition to the Generalitat.

From the bullfighting clubs they have lamented the high death rate that has been registered this year and have indicated that this is due, in part, to the increase in the number of celebrations that have been held, "the highest in history". About 300 municipalities in the Community celebrate bullfights, about 40 of them in the province of Alicante.

Mr. President of the Diputación de Alicante Mr. Carlos Mazón:
It is not understood that one of the first authorities of the province, who is supposed to be an enlightened person with ethical approaches, supports some shows where animal abuse is more than served, and it is even more morally reprehensible that nothing more and nothing is used less than 100.000 euros of the money that all taxpayers pay to promote the ´´security´ of such denigrating celebrations. I humbly advise you to break with the tradition of your party, the Partido Popular, and stop supporting the barbarities, to put it mildly. somehow, from a few animal abusers. Be something more European, where there is no room for these cruel events. Thank you very much.

I fear that paletismo is widespread throughout the local political class.
Question of traditions of the Terreta…
Hopefully that man manages to understand something of his message, I'm afraid they are unknown concepts, or simply very difficult to assimilate depending on what brains.
La Terreta asks for these things, justifying this outdated nationalism has these things.

For the rest, I join your plea. It seems incredible that this is happening.

In a modern and advanced society like today's there is room for everything, if there is money for bulls there is also for bulls, you understand me, right?
Well, to relax and enjoy life and let everyone do what they like best without getting into the lives of others.
Some people seem to have too much free time and they give and give for cu..

    Oops, there's been message cleanup.

It seems to me an aberration that so much money is used for late-night parties based on the torture of animals, we citizens should refuse to pay for this barbarism, having many other priorities such as health, education, social services, the dependency law, and so on.

  7. Erika says:

Totally agree with the comments of Anonymous, Ana María, Jose and Luis. For this there is money, but to resolve truly serious issues there is not. What a shame!

  8. Luis says:

Always the same, they use situations to divert money to certain pockets in a legal way.
Now the excuse is Security in the Bous. €100.000 for the sack.

    • Anonymous says:

They have seen that more than half of the citizens are not in favor of the bulls because of animal abuse and they have diverted the subject by saying that it is for the safety of those who attend so as not to recognize reality, now they take advantage of that for what you have mentioned.

  9. Vecino says:

It is clear that they are too rednecks to realize the aberrant ideas they have, it doesn't matter to them, no.

On the other hand, it is very hard that with my taxes such barbarity is paid.

  10. Jose says:

What no one should take responsibility for is irresponsibility.
If a drunk comes in and kills him, then the relatives should not come to ask for anything. The same with the minors (who know they can't be in the ring) or the older ones who are clueless in the ring.

  11. Ana Maria says:

Anonymous is right, but we already know how it goes… Bread and circuses. And for important works for Xabia there is never enough money. Let's see who fills his pocket with these parties.

  12. Anonymous says:

And all that money comes out of the pockets of all citizens, both those who are in favor and those who are against, great, the money he paid in taxes is going to go to some parties in which I do not participate while the Valencian Community it goes to waste because everything is missing everywhere, thank you very much.

PS To reinforce security, it is enough not to make the bars in the same enclosure as the bullfights and not allow people to enter the fight having drunk alcohol, all that bullshit that the "president" has mentioned is unnecessary, it is the desire to cover the sun with one finger, hypocrite
