The actress, screenwriter and director Antonia San Juan, together with the presenter Yeyo Bayeyo, will stage her show 'Interview with my daughter Mari' next Saturday, February 8, at 20:00 p.m., in the Auditorium of
the House of Culture.
In this play, the monologist from Gran Canaria uses comedy with cabaret reminiscences to offer a fierce criticism of patriarchy and machismo, presenting a reality that still persists in
our society. With clever twists and close-up witticisms, the actress embodies the story of a woman who, like many others, faces a real hell in the privacy of her home.
Through the format of a testimonial program, the plot unfolds on a set, where a character sits down to share his personal problems in search of his minute of glory.
The host of the show, Yeyo Bayeyo, accompanies the guest, subjecting her to a high level of stress, while providing opinions from people close to her, thus reflecting the media pressure and the lack of presumption of innocence that women in vulnerable situations often face.
Admission is free and open to the public until full capacity is reached. With this project, the Department of Culture continues with the objective of combining events of national and international significance with the performances of local entities in the cultural offering.
