As every October 9th, the day of the Valencians, the streets of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell are filled with associations and brotherhood. This year, the Departments of Culture and Festivals, together with the different local associations, have prepared a powerful and varied programme, with the main event being the concert of the Colla La Llebetjà, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary.
To get things going, the 2025 Festeros have organised an afternoon party with food and drink service on Tuesday 8 October. It will start at 20pm on Calle la Pau with a performance by the Electrika band, and at 00pm there will be a disco by DJ Kiko.br until 23am. Likewise, the balconies on Calle la Pau will host on Tuesday and Wednesday the exhibition commemorating the "00 d'Estellés" prepared by the students and the AMPA of CEIP Santa María Magdalena.
The big day, October 9, is dedicated to the associations of the town. It will start at 11:00 with games for the little ones and the raffle "Siempre toca", organized by the Associació de Dones, in La Pau street, where all the activities of the day will take place, except for the concert of the Colla.
At 11:30 a.m., the Banda del Poble Nou will offer a parade and, then, at 12:15 p.m., the Colla La Llebetjà will take place in Plaça de les Pesqueres for the grand concert to celebrate their 15th anniversary as a group. They will perform, together with the collaboration of the Parish Choir, the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí and the brass of the Banda del Poble Nou, the show “1238. Chronicle of a dream”, which tells the story of King James I.
To regain strength, the 2025 festival-goers will offer a popular meal of Valencian paella. Tickets, priced at 12 euros, can be purchased at the festival centre on 1 and 3 October, from 18:30 p.m. to 20:00 p.m. The meal includes a drink, picaeta, a plate of rice and typical sweets.
Afternoon tea will be enlivened from 15:30 p.m. by a musical performance by Toni Català, organised by the Association of Retirees and Pensioners. Later, at 17:30 p.m., the party-goers have organised an afternoon of bingo, and the Morro Falquí Dance Group will offer horchata and fartons at popular prices from 18:00 p.m.
