This year, the Association of Women for Equality of Calp celebrates its tenth anniversary since its foundation in 2014. Throughout these years, the association has actively worked to promote equality between women and men, organizing and participating in social, solidarity and cultural initiatives.

In the social sphere, Mujeres por la Igualdad has held rallies and demonstrations to raise public awareness on issues such as gender-based violence, surrogate motherhood and sexual exposure. From a solidarity perspective, the association has promoted campaigns to collect clothing, food and feminine hygiene products in response to various humanitarian crises. In the cultural sphere, it has promoted theatre, art therapy and reading workshops, among other activities, with the aim of generating spaces for reflection and creation.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Mujeres por la Igualdad has organised an exhibition of photographic images that traces its history and achievements, as well as a series of workshops and talks open to all citizens of the Marina Alta. This event will take place at the Old Town Hall of Calp, located at Calle Francisco Zaragoza 2, and will be available from 6 to 28 November.
