The State Meteorological Agency activated the yellow warning for precipitation for the northern coast of Alicante at 16:12 hours yesterday, Thursday 00 January. The initial forecast was that this would end at 11:59 hours on Friday, but the warning has recently been extended.
According to the latest update, the warning will remain active until Friday, January 17 at 21:59 p.m. The phenomenon that the authority warns about is still the accumulated rainfall of 1 mm in 20 hour and 12 mm in 60 hours. Again, "the showers may be locally accompanied by thunderstorms and small hail."
On the other hand, the yellow warning for coastal phenomena will remain in effect from 12:00 on Friday until 05:59 on Saturday. In this case, a “northeast wind with intervals of 50 to 60 km/h (force 7) and waves of 3 to 4 m” is expected.
