On August 24, the closing concert of the sixth edition of SONAFILM, the Marina Alta Film Music Festival, will take place in Ondara, with a "Tribute to John Williams", the most awarded Hollywood composer and author of the legendary soundtracks of The Wars, Indiana Jones o Jurassic Park.
The show, which will take place at 23:00 p.m. in the town's Bullring, is organized by the Department of Tourism of the Ondara City Council and will showcase the artist's most outstanding creations. The music will be performed by the Universal Symphony Orchestra, together with the choirs of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the CODA Children's Choir, under the direction of maestro José Martínez Colomina. In total, more than 150 musicians will take the stage, in what will be the concert with the largest lineup in the history of SONAFILM.
The Universal Symphony Orchestra is SONAFILM's resident orchestra and specializes in film and video game soundtracks. With international projection, the group has a long professional career in large-scale shows, among which productions dedicated to great sagas of the audiovisual world such as Assassin's Creed, Dragon Ball o The Legend Of Zelda, Among many others.
The principal conductor of the orchestra is José Martínez Colomina, whose career includes various national and international awards and recognitions. In 2010 in London he obtained a double degree in Symphony Orchestra Conducting and Wind Orchestra Conducting from the Royal Schools of Music of London (LRSM), achieving the highest qualification. He currently works as a professor at the Higher Conservatory of Valencia and professor of Direction.
Concerts and activities from August 2 to 24
The sixth edition of SONAFILM will take place from August 2 to 24 in the towns of Ondara -main founder-, Dénia, Calpe, l'Auditori Teulada Moraira (2023) and Beniarbeig, which this year joins the festival.
The complete program, which will be announced in the coming weeks, will host different events that cover a wide range of musical styles related to audiovisuals, as well as educational activities.
Likewise, the festival will have the presence of various guests, such as the already confirmed Spanish composers Zacarías M. De La Riva (Below zero, The adventures of Tadeo Jones), Manuel Gil-Inglada (Sesame Street, To know and to win, The Lunnis), Vicent Ortiz Gimero (The Farads) or Paula Ortiz (Under therapy).

SONAFILM, Marina Alta Film Music Festival, is the first and only festival dedicated to the music of the seventh art that takes place in Levante lands. Created in 2019 by the Department of Culture of Ondara together with the Aljub Músic Association, which has been in charge of the Artistic Direction to date, it was in 2021, during the celebration of its third edition, when it became regional level with the incorporation of the Department of Culture of Dénia into its organization.
The SONAFILM organization highlights and thanks the companies and entities that this year support the festival through sponsorships and collaborations and that have been a key part, along with the participating municipalities, to launch this sixth edition.
