The students of the Escola Municipal de Plàstica Experimental A Vives de Gata inaugurated last Friday, February 3, at the Casal de la Música de Gata, the exhibition new space, in clear reference to the new classrooms inaugurated last summer.

The exhibition is a reflection on two-dimensionality, in any of its aspects: Juan Escolano participates with engravings and a medium-format drawing, Pepa Caselles, Conxa Planells, Jeanny Connolly, Isabel Soler, Genoveva Regidor, Ana Medina, Pilar Monfort, Mar Fornes, Mª José Cholbi, Rosalía Beltrán and Mariví Puigcerver have chosen painting, be it on cardboard, on unprepared canvas, on canvas, on paper, with a wide variety of aesthetics, gestural abstraction, very careful figuration, intimate languages , etc.

Technical diversity has also been present, some works are in oil, acrylic, lithographic inks or watercolors. Others have expressed themselves by presenting an installation of pictorial works on the same theme, Pepa Espasa; Guido Bompadre presents a painting and a monotype; Fina Gilabert also presents a montage made by sewing on cardboard; Pedro Fauser has chosen the photograph of some actions carried out at different doors; Anna Climent presents photo-based collages; and, finally, Jaume Monfort, a work carried out with aluminium.

A performance as a novelty

But the great novelty has been to resume the expression through the performance that was represented during the inauguration. The play has been carried out by the theater director and student of the Diana Fazio school with the performance of Mariví Puicerver, Mar Fornés, Juan Escolano, Estela Bellorini and Guido Bompadre.

The inauguration was accompanied by a large audience from the region and beyond. It was attended by all the authors, the teacher from the Ginestar school, the Councilor for Culture, Àngels Soler, and the councilors of Gata Toni Signes and Juan Pedrós.

The exhibition can be visited until February 19, from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m.
