November 23 from 2022 - 14: 46

From next December 3 and until the end of next January, the Exhibition Hall of the Vell Town Hall will house a wide range of philatelic collections that will show the public the art of stamp collecting, within what will be the 27th EXFICALP 2022.

It has been an obligatory appointment for years that, with the arrival of the first days of December, and coinciding with the long-awaited last festive bridge of the year, that of Constitution Day together with that of the Immaculate Conception, Calp becomes the nerve center of the provincial philately, where a tight and interesting program of activities will delight those philatelists, and collectors in general, who come to visit it. In addition, the fact that it coincides with the Fira de Nadal organized by the Calp City Council gives it an added attraction and a claim for tourists, visitors and neighbors who take advantage of these days to enjoy all this varied range of cultural and recreational activities.

The theme this year that the EXFICALP 2022 organization has chosen is no coincidence. For years, Correos has been promoting through numerous postal issues in the form of stamps, stationery, cards, postmarks, etc., a gastronomy that throughout the Spanish geography, dazzles those who taste it. We can safely say that Spanish gastronomy is in fashion, and thanks to the Post Office it is reaching all parts of the world. EXFICALP has wanted to join this trend, partly because Calp has a lot to offer to the rich and varied amount of dishes that Spanish cuisine offers to those with a good palate. For this reason, EXFICALP 22 will revolve around the two quintessential dishes of Calp cuisine: the Llauna de Calp and the Arrós del Senyoret.

To highlight these two plates, the Post Office has been asked to issue "local" various philatelic-postal material, where the image of these two plates stands out, always hoping that one day, the postal entity will see fit to incorporate national level this rich and healthy gastronomy from Calpe, within the broadcasts that will surely continue to broadcast in the coming years, dedicated to our good food.

The programming planned for this edition will once again not leave anyone indifferent. From the Calp Philatelic and Numismatic Association, organizer of the philatelic event, each act that is proposed for its realization is meticulously cared for. In short, it is a matter of reaching as varied an audience as possible, and where collectors (or non-collectors) of all ages have a place. Of all the activities that are going to be carried out, two stand out that, although they may seem to be aimed at a more specialized audience, will be equally interesting for anyone who wishes to learn about historical aspects of stamp collecting. The first one and under the title of "Philatelic Literature Day", will take place on Thursday, December 8 at 18,30:1879 p.m., where around a coffee, the book Postal Dictionary of the Province of Alicante from 15, of which Calpina philately owns a copy. The other outstanding event will take place on December 19 at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., at the Casa Nova de Calp (Seu Universitaria), with a talk about the mail in Calp through time, given by José Ivars Ivars.

We must not forget that one of the moments that every philatelist waits for year after year, wherever it is held, is the traditional exchange day or philatelic market, a moment in which around boxes and boxes of stamps, and philatelic material, the collector enjoys like a real child. This day, within the EXFICALP 22 programming, will take place on the morning of December 6, a festive day that numerous philatelists from all over Spain take advantage of.

For the little ones, those future collectors who must give continuity to this collecting, events and activities are also organized, most of the time in the form of workshops or games that introduce them to this exciting collecting. For the same day, December 6, in the afternoon, there will be a Philately Initiation Workshop, a workshop that aims to make known the first notions that any newcomer has to know to delve into the adventure of philately. On Saturday, December 10, and also in the evening, given the proximity of the Christmas holidays, the organization intends to resume that old custom of congratulating Christmas by sending the traditional "Christmas Cards". And this activity is open to the public.

After the success of the "philatelic walk" in the previous edition of EXFICALP, which was carried out to get to know El Antiguo Camí de Postas as it passed through Calp and other areas of the town, this year the experience will be repeated but with a visit Guided tour to another area of the town that has been in fashion lately: Canelles and the La Mola Quarry. These activities without philatelic similarity, intend to highlight and publicize cultural and historical spaces, which are in disuse, sometimes forgotten, and which should be valued again.

And since philately never usually goes for free in Calp, this 27th edition will have a parallel exhibition that will make EXFICALP 2022 more attractive. It is the photographic exhibition of the young man from Calp Aitor Pérez del Arco, artist of the photographic camera with a record enviable and that this year won the Premi Jove Jaume Pastor i Fluixà de Calp.

In short, a must-see event that we cannot miss, as a close to a year, this 2022, which has once again placed the entire region philatelically speaking, at the top of the national philatelic scene. And 2023 is coming just as interesting or more.
