The Font del Riu festivities take place around the day of Sant Joan, the 24 June. The inhabitants welcome summer, which begins on June 21, with this celebration.

The Font del Riu festivities are held in honor of Sant Joan and, during the weekend, events such as festivals, bullfights, popular dinners, mass and a procession take place. Among all the events, bonfires cannot be missing, the main element of the festivity.
Origen
The origin of the Font del Riu festivities comes from Sant Joan. In this festival, pagan rites were carried out prior to the implementation of Christianity, in which millennia ago the arrival of the summer solstice (between June 20 and 23) in the northern hemisphere was celebrated. The milestone of this festival was to carry out a cult of the sun and the lengthening of the day.
