"Josep Antoni Comes has left us," as announced by the Pedreguer City Council in a sincere and admiring letter. Pedreguer presented the Escut d'Or of the Vila to Josep Antoni Comes i Ballester (1930-2022) along with his sister Clementina.
The Consistory has dedicated the following words in his honor:
A pedreguera person committed to the seua faith and the culture of the Valencian Country, and molt tied to his people, who has always tingut in his heart, and who will always be grateful (to her and the German woman) for the named mostres de generosity and estimates that at the end of his life he will grant.
The City Council of Pedreguer expresses its condolences for this pèrdua, of a good home that, during all these years, in a selfless manner, has dedicated his service and his time to our people, and differentiating Valencian history and language through Saó Magazine, of which he will be one of the founders and the first director.
From these lines we proclaim and share our eternal gratitude to Josep Antoni Comes, not just for this work, but also for his invaluable collaboration and love for Vila de Pedreguer. From the consistory of Pedreguer we express all our support and affect his family.
