The Marina Alta currently has coronavirus figures well below the national average. Although an increase in infections was expected at the end of Holy Week and Easter, the truth is that this did not occur.
After the last Health update on Friday, May 7, 29 of the 33 municipalities that make up the region are in a normal situation. This means that its cumulative incidence in the last 14 days is less than 25 per hundred thousand inhabitants.
But, which are the municipalities that resist this new normal and why? Dénia, Calp, Teulada-Moraira and Orba are the 4 towns with the highest cumulative incidence in the Marina Alta.
In the case of the capital of the region, although it remains at a slight level, the drip of positives in recent weeks does not allow Dénia to enter the new normal. It currently has 16 active cases and a cumulative incidence of 37,36.
Calp it also remains above the new normal with a cumulative incidence of 47. A figure that has been decreasing in recent weeks when, several outbreaks of social origin raised the incidence per 68 inhabitants to 11. Since the last update, the town of El Peñón has XNUMX active positive cases.
In the case of Teulada-Moraira, which had been maintaining very good figures, shot up in the April 30 update, after accounting for 10 new positive cases that came from the Municipality's Residence. It currently has 14 active cases and a very high cumulative incidence of 124 per XNUMX inhabitants.
And finally, Orba. The municipality also shot up its cumulative incidence on April 30 by registering two new positives, after several weeks without any cases. There are currently 3 active cases and the municipality has the highest cumulative incidence in the Marina Alta: 134.
The Marina Alta is currently at a mild level with a cumulative incidence of 31,65 per hundred thousand inhabitants, 54 active cases and with most of its municipalities in a very optimal situation of the pandemic.
