After the appropriate deliberations and voting, the jury of the literary awards "25 d'abril Villa de Benissa 2023" decided last weekend which works were going to be the winners this year.
In this way, the minutes of the Department of Culture of the Benissa City Council define the following winning works and their authors in each of the award categories:
- Prize in poetry modality: Saffronby Marta Perez Sierra
- Short Narrative Award: winter sunby Lourdes Toledo Lorente
- Research Award: Historical reconstruction of life and stylistic analysis of music, written by pianist and music critic Benisserby Francisco Llopis Ivars
- Prize in the theater modality: Compareixem en nom del caos, Joan Nave Fluxà.
The mayor of Benissa and president of the jury, Arturo Poquet, has stated that he is very satisfied with the level of the works presented in this edition. In addition, Poquet, has stressed that "on this occasion several awards stay at home, as there are two Benisseros among the winners." For her part, the Councilor for Culture, Rosa Lucía Pino, wanted to thank all the participants for the effort made, as well as remembering the great daily work of her entire team.
