The hermitage of San Antonio Abad de Pego is very close to the urban center, just over a kilometer away. It is reached by the Camí de Sant Antoni. Its origin is due to the need of the Moorish population to have a place of worship. It was built in the 16th century in what was the old area of the Benisuleima farmhouse and can be included in the model of "hermitages of conquest."
The hermitage is in the late Gothic style and has a porch that occupies the entire width of the facade. The porch and the hermit's house (which no longer fulfills that function) were later attached and do not match the original Gothic style. The building has a single rectangular nave, has a gabled roof and is plastered in white.
Every January 17 the pilgrimage for this saint is celebrated in the hermitage of Sant Antoni.
