History

During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) it was a hospital.

Features

The work on this hermitage began in 1762 and ended in 1905 with the construction of the bell tower and the 14 chapels of the Via Crucis. In 1886 the building was expanded. The last major reform took place in 1974. Currently the hermitage is well preserved.

The temple is next to a small forest of cypress and pine trees. Its walls are white, the roof is made of gabled tiles and the small dome of glazed tiles rises above it. It also has a porch. On the main access there is a niche with a roof that represents the last station of the Via Crucis.

Parties

The patron saint festivities in honor of the Christ of Calvary are celebrated during the first week of August. On the first day, the image of Christ is lowered in procession to the church of San Miguel where it remains until August 6, the last day of the festivities.

In addition, mass is celebrated in the hermitage on holidays during the summer months. It is also the scene of the representations of Holy Week.
