Enrique Moll responds to the PP: "The 'Pego beach' has never been owned by our municipality"

The municipal plenary session held yesterday in Pego tried to settle a "historic controversy" for the Pegolinos and Pegolinas. When it came time for motions, the Popular Party tried to present one to demand that Dénia a change in the boundaries of the beach so that Pego has power over the piece of Les Deveses coastline considered by many as "Pego's beach".

The reason for this attempted motion presented by the popular spokesman, Ferran González, derives from the "abandonment suffered by the residents of Pego in the area" and that translates into various complaints both from the part of the houses and from the coast itself. .

The mayor, Enrique Moll, in response to the PP, asserted that "this area of the coast, misattributed to the Pegolinos, has never been the property of our municipality." The socialist explained that there is no document that proves it. In fact, he pointed out that the oldest revised writing is from 1303 and neither indicates that Pego had dominion over the beach since then.

In addition, according to Moll, there are also no documents indicating any payment related to the property of this. The mayor invited “any neighbor to look for or contribute a document. If it is found, we will claim it, meanwhile we are not going to sell a card belonging to a player who has never played for Pego”.

The popular spokesman insisted on the need to "support the residents of Pego who have a home there." In this regard, the mayor assured that "many meetings have already been held and those that are necessary will be held to try to solve the problems that Pegolinos suffer there."

Both the government team and the Compromís group voted against the inclusion of the motion to the plenary session.
