The La Cremadella del Verger path has recently been paved. At the end of August, the City Council announced the concession by the Alicante Provincial Council of a subsidy "for the acquisition of lights and elements for the improvement of road safety, on roads and rural paths". And, in this way, he announced the action accompanied, previously, by the asphalt of the same road.
A necessary action, since the state of the road was quite desirable, very deteriorated and with obvious potholes. Therefore, this represents a significant advance that benefits so many neighbors, who use it to access their land, walk or play sports on a regular basis.
However, the second part of the work is missing, which consists of installing the streetlights that will improve visibility on the street, especially now, in the face of winter. This week the holes could already be seen along the road at the points where the lights will be installed.
Reform of the Social Center and square in the old basketball court
Another of the actions that have recently begun is the work to expand and reform the Social Center on Almàssera Street. This project was promoted by Compromís pel Verger in the last legislature and was finally approved in the extraordinary plenary session of July 2020.
The action is part of the Plan Plan of the Diputación de Alicante by which the center will be completely reformed and, in addition, a new square will be built located in the back of it. Specifically, where the old basketball field is located, which overlooks Miraflor Street, since currently the official field is located in the sports center in front of the municipal school facilities.
The reform of the building in question plans to expand the restaurant premises located inside. On the other hand, the integral rehabilitation will allow to include more activities for the neighbors and, consequently, it will be more attractive for the citizenship.
