This Wednesday, October 2, the Trinquet Municipal of Ondara hosted the start of the course of the second edition of the project “Pilota a les Trobades d'Escoles Valencianes”. This initiative, promoted by the Federation of Escola Valenciana, aims to spread the Valencian pilota during the Trobades, with special attention to the pilota grossa modality.
The Ondara City Council, through the Sports Department headed by Lluís Fornés, has co-organised this event, collaborating with the provision of spaces and supporting the organisation. The presentation of this sports and training project was attended this morning at the Trinquet Municipal de Ondara by the Councillor for Sports himself, Lluís Fornés, as well as the project managers, Vicent Romans and Sebastià Giner.
Boys and girls from the municipalities of Ondara, El Verger, Pego, Benissa, Confrides and Onil have participated in the Trinquet in Ondara and in the nearby streets on this day of coexistence. From 09:30 to 13:30 various games have been played, both in the street and in the trinquet, including the large trinquet and the trinquetet, focused on the pilota grossa modality.
The "Pilota a les Trobades d'Escoles Valencianes" project was created by the Valencian School Federation, which considered it important to integrate sport into the activities carried out during the Trobades de Escoles Valencianes. The presentation event took place today in Ondara, which has the second oldest trinquet in operation, as well as one of the most successful pilota schools in the region. The modality chosen for this initiative was the pilota grossa, as it is a discipline accessible to everyone.
