The RIURAU Film Festival celebrates its XI edition this year and has already announced when it will fill the Marina Alta with cinema and culture. The dates on which it will take place from August 20 to September 11. In addition, the registration period for short films that want to participate is also open from this month of February. The period will be until May 31.
This year, the festival contemplates the Dance Film category, with its own shooting and editing technique, as its most experimental asset. It usually receives wide participation in its Fiction, Fiction in Valencià/Catalá and Social Fiction sections, which on this occasion deals with the theme of Sustainability. Also, in addition to the Gender Diversity section, there will be the Environment and the Sea section, the only one in which the documentary aspect is admitted.
The total prizes of the festival amounts to 3.700 euros, in addition to the recently renewed "Bancalet" statuette and the distribution of diplomas and laurels. The festival, as usual, organizes a shooting and editing marathon called RIURAU EXPRESS on August 20 and 21. It will also feature the IX Encuentros de Film de Danza and conferences, tables, courses for young people and a meeting of filmmakers, producers and distributors prior to the award ceremony of the festival.
On the other hand, the awards ceremony is scheduled for September 11. And, finally, it should be noted that the festival has the collaboration of the Valencian Institute of Culture of the Generalitat, the town councils of Dénia y Xàbia, the EATIM of Jesús Pobre and La Xara, Alicante Provincial Council and the Baleària Function, among other supports.
