The new notice from the Ministry of Health that reaches the mobile phone: how does it work?

17 March 2023 - 08: 00

The GVA +Salut application allows citizens to request appointments with the doctor, generate primary care receipts and, from now on, it has a new functionality.

The Conselleria de Sanitat Universal i Salut Pública has activated the function of sending patients through the mobile tool a notice each time the prescribed medication is withdrawn of a pharmaceutical establishment. The system seeks to optimize safety in drug dispensing.

notice works the same as that of the applications of banking entities, For example. These issue an alert to customers to inform them in real time of the status of their accounts, the latest movements, cash withdrawals at the ATM or card payments.

The improvement is aligned with other functions that are already operational in the application with the aim of promoting the autonomy and responsibility of citizens and contributing to the proper use of medicines and health products.

Specifically, the APP already incorporates information about the treatments that the chronic patient has available in the pharmacy, your next recipes and the history of the dispensations made. In this way, the interested person can keep track of the dates and pharmaceutical offices where they have purchased each medication.

The mechanics for withdrawing the treatment at the pharmacy remains the same: the electronic prescription is still valid, so that it is enough to present the SIP card. It is not necessary to bring the printed sheet with the barcode, although there is the possibility of printing it if the person wants.

Recipes in chronic patients

Since 2019, the prescriptions that are generated when prescribing a treatment for a chronic patient do not have an expiration date. In this way, the person can pick up the medication from the pharmacy when they need it, without having to pay attention to the calendar.

Previously, when prescribing a treatment, the number of prescriptions necessary to cover the period planned by the doctor was generated by computer, with predetermined dates for their withdrawal at the pharmacy, with the risk of accumulating medicines at home. This forced the public to keep an eye on the calendar, forcing the withdrawal of the medication at a specific time and, if three prescriptions were not used in a row, the treatment was cancelled.

According to the Ministry, the measures adopted to revert this situation and promote the optimal use of medicines have made it possible to contain the growth of pharmaceutical spending on prescriptions in the Valencian Community, but without cutting activity or benefits, since, at the same time, an increase in the number of prescriptions prescribed and a reduction in the cost per prescription have been achieved.

In quantitative terms, last year, the number of prescriptions increased by 7,4% (122.316.422 prescriptions) with an average cost of 11,69 euros/prescription, 2,34% lower than the average cost of 2021 (11,97 .XNUMX euros).
