Last weekend, hundreds of residents and visitors enjoyed an incredible atmosphere thanks to the numerous gastronomic and leisure proposals in which the fava poblera was the undisputed protagonist.
The party started on Friday afternoon with the conference 'La Cova de les Bruixes: new investigations', given by the professor of Archeology at the University of Alicante, Feliciana Sala Sellés. The night continued with a great gastronomic event. The chefs Miquel Ruiz, from El Baret de Miquel de Dénia, and Fran Burgos, from La Fava in Benidorm, offered a showcooking in which they prepared preparations with fava poblera. Afterwards, the attendees tasted their tapas to the rhythm of the music of the duo Tàndem, which livened up the evening.
On Saturday morning there was also a great family atmosphere with the workshop and story-telling 'We are what we eat' and the dansà of the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí and the Colla La Llebetjà. In the afternoon, first the children's audience enjoyed the massive concert by Dani Miquel, who was taken over by the inimitable singer from Xàtiva Pep
Gimeno 'Botifarra', which packed the square even more. In the evening, the public enjoyed good food and live music with the groups La Xe-ranga, La Trocamba Matanusca, Niuss and Dj Cate.
Yesterday, Sunday, beans were very present in the most gastronomic aspect of Mitjafava with the Tapifava Festival and the contest for the longest bean with the most Gallons. Francisco Llobell's 45-centimeter bean won the prize for the fava més llarga (the longest bean), and the fava with the most gallons (the bean with the most seeds) was that of Félix Rojas, with 11 seeds.
Another attraction was the home-made and traditional wine competition organized by the Associació Biomoscatell, which took over from the old Associació de Veïns after the death of its president, Pura Bolufer, last year. The councilor, Mayte Roldán, dedicated an emotional thank you: "Pura, wherever you are, this is for you."

The jury declared white wine winner to Andrés Beltrán, with Josef Fässler second and Pep Bolufer and José Roque third. The City Council congratulated all participants for keeping the tradition of artisanal wine alive in the municipality. The prizes of the first Mitjafava Fest Poster Contest organized by the Youth area for young people between 12 and 30 years old were also presented. Joan Vidal won and Isabel Buigues came in second place.
The Bass Duo concert completed an unbeatable morning that showcased the municipality's most native products. A gastronomic showcase in which restaurants in the municipality reinvented cuisine by creating tapas, in some cases from geographies as far away as Asia, with the bean as the main ingredient.
