The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has put out to tender a €23,7 million contract for the maintenance and operation of state roads in the province of Alicante. The project will cover more than 156 kilometers of sector 3, including 78 kilometers of highway.
The PSOE national representative, Alejandro Soler, praised this investment, emphasizing that "the Spanish government's commitment to the province of Alicante is more than evident. Since Pedro Sánchez took office, the region and the province of Alicante have seen more investment than ever before." Soler added that "in just one year, this government, through the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, has tendered more public works than in the seven years of Mariano Rajoy's administration."
Among the infrastructures that will benefit from the maintenance work are the AP-7, from the provincial border with Valencia to El Campello, the A-70, near the same town, and the N-332, between El Campello and Els Poblets. According to Soler, these roads "are good examples of the Spanish government's level of involvement."
The MP also criticized the regional government led by Carlos Mazón, stating that "while the Mazón government cuts €70 million in investments for the province from its budget, the Spanish government invests in improvements. Clearly, these are two completely different ways of governing."
Finally, Soler emphasized that "we Socialists know we must continue working to ensure the province has infrastructure consistent with our economic and social model. To achieve this, it is important to put the general interest before any political strategy." In his opinion, "having a government that is committed to continuing to work for a national project that guarantees social justice, democracy, and progress for all is the goal of the Socialists."
In addition to the works, the roads must be kept in perfect condition, that is, gutters must be clear of rubbish and vegetation, reflectors must be in good condition, ground markings must be maintained, and signage must be visible and not damaged by graffiti of all kinds, "as happens, for example, at the entrance to the Municipality of Jávea (through Gata) a criminal from Arran has defaced the Spanish name of Xabia/Jávea with black paint"...
The issue of the pro-ETA graffiti on the Navy is a disgrace. It won't be resolved because it's not in the best interest of anyone.
Alejandro Soler, a PSOE deputy for the province of Alicante, could very well worry about the Marina Alta and not boast about a conservation contract that serves no purpose other than maintaining the province's roads. Or worry about why the ministry isn't making progress on the Gandia-Denia train and we're going to have to settle for a tram with 12 stops for a 60-minute journey and stay connected to the commuter rail network. But of course, for Alejandro Soler, the Marina Alta is very far away, and above all, his great friend José Chulvi is there... the latter was responsible for ousting him a few years ago due to some minor problems Soler had with the law, problems that later amounted to nothing, it must be said.
