Like every year, the Andalusian Market opens the activities of the Moors and Christians celebrations in Moraira. This 2024, from June 7 to 9, the urban center of Moraira will take you back in time to the heart of Al-Andalus.

Millenary crafts, ancient gastronomy and traditional music and dance will fill the Plaza de la Sort in Morairala, Almacenes street and Mar de Moraira street. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 22:30 p.m.

«The celebration of the Andalusian Market is a unique opportunity for neighbors and visitors to enjoy our rich cultural heritage. This event not only encourages coexistence and interaction between different cultures, but also supports our local and regional artisans, who play a fundamental role in the preservation of our traditions. I invite everyone to enjoy the market with us to live this magical experience," highlighted the Councilor for Markets, Mari Cantó.

The opening of the market will be next Friday, June 7 at 19:30 p.m. and will feature the participation of the Central Board of Moors and Christians of Moraira and municipal authorities.

As for the gastronomic offer, visitors will be able to enjoy Moorish tea, Arab sweets and other typical delicacies that evoke the flavors of yesteryear. For entertainment, there will be traveling Arabic music, fire shows, duels between Moors and Christians, a School of Knights, belly dancing, stilts, juggling and acrobats, offering endless entertaining shows.

In addition, Arab percussion workshops, ceramic turners and craft demonstrations in goldsmithing and textiles have been organized, allowing attendees to interact and learn about these ancient craft techniques.
