The III Poetes per la Cultura Marina Alta Poetry Prize will have two awards for the first time

20 2023 April - 14: 23

The Poetes per la Cultura association has opened the period for the third call for the Marina Alta Poetry Prize. The works in the competition may be submitted until July 31, 2023, since the contest is open to national and international writers.

The Marina Alta Poetry Prize, which is sponsored by the Salom Sabar Foundation, is endowed with 500 euros, a dinner and a hotel night to attend the award ceremony, which will be held in Dénia, where the association's headquarters are located. The competition accepts one or more original and unpublished works written in Spanish or Valencian. On this occasion, as a novelty, two awards are being announced, one for the Spanish language and the other for the Valencian language, both with the same prize and selection rules.

It is worth mentioning that in previous editions, the Marina Alta Poetry Award has been very well received by the literary community, with Francisco Javier Cárdenas being the winner of the first edition with his proposal "An epitaph for my wife", while José Santiago He won the prize in the second edition with his collection of poems "Se adentra".

Poetes per la Cultura is a non-profit association based in Dénia, whose main objective is to support and disseminate poetry and its creators in the Marina Alta region. To carry out its work, the association organizes literary activities throughout the year, both its own and in collaboration with other entities.

Since 2022, the Salom Sabar Foundation has collaborated with Poetes per la Cultura as the sponsoring entity of the Marina Alta Poetry Prize, in support of initiatives such as this one, which promote culture and literary creation in the Marina Alta.
