The Department of Equality and Gender Policies of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell launches for another year the Fotodona Photography Contest, which this year reaches its eighth edition. The objective is to publicize a personal vision of March 8, International Women's Day, through images that empower women. "We want to give women prominence in the visual field so that they can achieve an autonomous life to access resources, recognition and decision-making in all spheres of personal and social life," said the councilor for the area, Víctor Bisquert. .
Given the acceptance and growth that the contest has had in recent editions, last year it was decided to increase the number of winning photos from two to four. Thus, there is first, second and third prize, with 300, 100 and 50 euros respectively, and a local second prize worth 200 euros. In addition, minors from the age of 16 can also participate with the authorization of an adult.
Contest rules
In the photograph, a woman or several, of legal age, must appear at any time in their lives, regardless of nationality or culture. It will be valued that the woman or women who appear live in the town. Each participant may submit a maximum of three color or black and white photographs, which must be unpublished. The authors of the selected images must provide a signed declaration of authorship. If identifiable people appear in the photographs, it will also be necessary to provide their written consent.
The photographs will be presented in JPG digital format with a maximum size of 5MB and a resolution of 300 dpi, as well as printed on photographic paper in 30 x 40 size. In addition, a form must be filled out that will be delivered to the City Hall, specifically by electronic headquarters or at the Citizen Service Office (C/ de les Escoles, 2) in person.
The selection and awarding of the contest prizes will be made at the proposal of a jury made up of members of the field of photography, design and culture. The winning photos will be published on the City Council website and on social networks, indicating their authorship.
The period for submitting photographs ends on February 24, 2022 at 14:00 p.m.
