The Department of Health of Dénia will be held on May 12th, 1st International Nursing Day, with the aim of highlighting the work of nurses at different levels of care and fostering spaces for professional reflection.
The meeting will take place in the hospital's auditorium and will bring together nurses from the hospital, primary care, and social care fields. The event will be opened by the manager of the Dénia Health Department, Juan Puig, and the Director of Nursing, Mª José Tomás.
Following the inauguration, three consecutive roundtable discussions will be held, led by representatives from different healthcare areas. Each roundtable will address issues related to the role of nurses in improving healthcare quality and continuity.
Programming of the Day
The first, titled Reference UnitsThree professionals from the department will participate and will discuss stomatotherapy, demand management, and heart failure.
The second table will be titled Continuïtat de Cures Cycle and will address aspects related to care coordination and follow-up, the role of primary care in the continuity of care, intervention in the Emergency Department, and hospitalization as part of the care cycle.
Finally, the third table will be titled How We Take Care Of Each Other and will address aspects related to self-care for healthcare personnel, such as nutrition and physical and emotional well-being.
The event, which will be closed by Rosa Ferrándiz, Director of Primary Care Nursing, will serve as a meeting place for professionals from different areas of nursing.
The Nursing Department of the Dénia Department of Health joins the WHO's 2025 initiative with the motto "Caring for nurses, we strengthen the economy," as fundamental pillars for the functioning of health systems worldwide.
For this first edition of the conference in Dénia, a structure has been chosen that combines clinical and professional care aspects. The program will provide an opportunity to learn about nursing projects within the department and create opportunities to share experiences.
