The councilor of Benissa Adrián Cabrera is appointed member of the Executive Board of the Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat

February 12 from 2025 - 12: 55

The Benissa Town Council has participated in the working seminar of the Executive Board of the Valencian Fund for Solidarity, held in L'Alcudia. During the meeting, Adrián Cabrera, First Deputy Mayor of Benissa, was appointed member of the Executive Board of the Fund, thus consolidating the presence of the municipality in the entity.

During the meeting, ongoing projects were analysed and new initiatives were planned for 2025, including development education activities in partner municipalities affected by the DANA. L'Alcúdia will be the first to host these actions due to its role in the Fons Executive Board and the effects suffered by the flood.

Among the approved international cooperation projects, the 20th Edition of "Being a Woman in the South" and the project co-financed with the Valencia Provincial Council for the creation of the municipal women's office in Concepción (Bolivia) stand out.

The meeting also served to strengthen ties between member municipalities and the technical team of the entity, promoting cooperation and the exchange of experiences. In this context, Cabrera highlighted the importance of municipal solidarity and the role of Benissa in international cooperation.

The Valencian Fund for Solidarity is the association of town councils and associations of municipalities of the Valencian Community which, from the political, territorial and population plurality, combines the efforts and resources of the member local entities to carry out decentralised municipal international cooperation projects in populations of impoverished countries, humanitarian action in countries in emergency situations and education for development and global citizenship in the Fons partner towns in the Community.

Currently, 149 local partner entities (141 town councils and 8 associations) are part of the Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat.
