On Friday 14 February, the CEIP Rosalia Bondia has organised, in collaboration with the Pego Town Hall, a charity race to help people affected by the meteorological disaster.
This is an initiative in which the school's students will participate, who, accompanied by teachers, will walk through some of the main streets in the town centre to finish in Plaça de l'Ajuntament. "The important thing is not whether the distance is covered more or less, but that there is a wide participation," explains the school.
Once in the square, the students will be divided into groups or stations and at each of these there will be different activities scheduled for the occasion. "Coinciding with February 14, in a certain way this race is an act of love towards those affected by the DANA. To show them that we know that they still need our help," they indicate.
For the celebration of this charity event, which will start at 10:00 in Plaça de l'Ajuntament, students and teachers will have the support of the school's AMPA, "actively participating in the race and encouraging parents, as well as other relatives of the students of the school to participate."
The Marina Alta Circuit Trail has also wanted to be involved in the initiative, providing the finishing arch so that the students can see the times they achieve in the race, "it is a way of giving more relevance to the event and making the boys and girls feel that what they are doing is important."
The school emphasizes that anyone who wants to help the cause can participate in this charity race. This event also counts on the collaboration of Save the Children.
Rosalia Bondia's management is calling on residents of the municipality to join the students in this race. "Registration for a bib is 1 euro, and donations are also accepted for those who cannot attend the race," they say.
