The Moraira Yacht Club and the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO-CSIC) will hold the scientific conference "Colossi of the Mediterranean 5" from June 7 to 2025. This initiative focuses on the capture, tagging, and release of bluefin tuna for exclusively scientific purposes.

The event, which is already fully booked, will bring together a select group of deep-sea fishing enthusiasts from different parts of the Spanish coast in Moraira Bay. They will participate in a voluntary and collaborative effort in this conservation project led by the IEO. Representatives from the Spanish Fishing and Casting Federation, an entity affiliated with the Higher Council of Sports, will also attend as observers.
