The rhythmic gymnastics club Les Marines de Calp has started the group season and the Individual Base Cup with a double event last weekend, in the Almoradí and Sant Jordi d'Alcoi trophies. During these two days of competition, the club achieved an impressive total of four gold medals and five bronze medals.
On Saturday, the club's five teams made their season debut. The pre-benjamin team, made up of Rebecca, Emma, Lamar, Lucía and Valentina, participated for the first time in a national competition, showing a great performance in their debut. The other pre-benjamin team, made up of Eva, Ainara, Isabella, Ania and Sara, stood out both before the public and the jury, which allowed them to win the gold medal. However, on Sunday, both teams faced a higher category and, although they performed well, they were unable to reach the podium.
The junior team, made up of Daniela, Polina, Vasilisa, Vera and Alessia, performed an excellent five-ring routine, which allowed them to climb to the top of the podium in a high-level category. On Sunday, small mistakes relegated them to third place, taking bronze.
The children's team, made up of Sophie, Paulina, Julia, Mandana and Anastasia, had a good start on Saturday, although an error with the ball left them in sixth place. However, in Alcoi, they made up for their previous result with an impeccable performance that allowed them to win gold.
The youth team, made up of Tatiana, Lucía, Ruth, Naiara and Valery, demonstrated the fruits of their hard training. Despite some mistakes, they managed to win gold in a category with more than twenty participating teams. On Sunday they improved their performance and climbed back to the top of the podium.
Sunday was also the debut of the individual gymnasts. In the under-12 category, Daniela took the bronze medal, while in the under-12 category, Katya won bronze and Almudena came close to the podium, finishing in fifth place. Zaira, also in the under-12 category, achieved a creditable seventh place. In the cadet category, Sanchia performed well, although the high level of the competition prevented her from advancing in the classification. Finally, Yeva won bronze with her ball exercise.
With these excellent results, Les Marines is optimistic about the provincial phase of the Spanish Youth Championship, confident that all its teams will qualify for the regional phase. The club has expressed its gratitude to the coaching staff, parents, gymnasts and sponsors for their support and dedication, which have allowed the season to open with such outstanding achievements.
