The Club d'Atletisme Ondara organizes the XXIV VOLTA POPULAR ONDARA, with the collaboration of the Regidoria d'Esports, both entities presented the Course, days ago in the cloister of the City Hall with their representatives, José Ramiro, Mayor of Ondarense, Lluís Fornés councilor of sports, Ana Ribes sports technician and the members of the club, María José Català, Juan Ginestar and its president Miguel Moreno.
The great athletics festival arrives on Saturday in Ondara, with forecasts close to 1500 participating runners in the different children's categories and the queen's event, as well as the inclusive race and live music, at the Moll del Prado, with the young singer Marta Fornali .
At 16:30 p.m., the popular athletics festival will start with the little ones who will run 100 meters from the Plaça del Convent, in front of the Town Hall to the finish line located in General Bosch, then the pre-benjamines with departure and arrival in finish area, they will extend the distance to 350 meters, all of them obtaining the commemorative medal, as well as other gifts, then time for the qualifying events of the Circuit, with greater distances that range from 800m in the junior category to 3.300m for the juniors. Once completed, the Trophies will be awarded.
Next, at 19:00 p.m., the runners of the queen event will take the start from Avd. Doctor Fleming, where the first section through the urban center is canceled, passing through the Aulari de Música and the hermitage of the Crist and the industrial area, to search directly for the municipal area, traveling along the Camí dels Poblets, passing by the Municipal Swimming Pool and Pavilion, heading towards the Mollons area, crossing the Camí La Mar, Camí de La Torre, now located at the point kilometer 3,5K, look for the Cami Vell de Denia leaving Alfatares and continue towards the Tossals area where the pumptrack is, return to the urban section and connect with the usual arrival section, towards General Bosch where the heat of the people will push in the final meters, towards the finish line, there CA Ondara has planned an attractive final refreshment station.
The fastest in the previous edition were María Isabel Ferrer, from Llebeig Xàbia in the women's category by completing the course in a time of 37:18 and the Vicky Foods athlete Mark Tanner, who stopped the clock at 32:58.
Entertainment is guaranteed throughout the entire route by having more than 10 music spots with powerful portable speakers, as well as a live performance by the Batucada Arttack from Ondara.
The organization has provided for all runners, a cloakroom service, as well as bicycles, in the interior area of the El Prado Building, showers located in the Swimming Pool and Municipal Pavilion 550 meters from the finish line and various parkins, one of them in the same shower area.
