From 21 to 23 November, Zaragoza hosted the Spanish Youth Championship, where the Club Gimnàstic Les Marines had a historic participation. With six teams qualified, the Alicante club was the one with the greatest representation in the Valencian Community. All the teams managed to place themselves among the 30 best in Spain, highlighting the national diploma of the prebenjamin MA team, fifth place, and the national runner-up of the alevín team.

The competition started on Thursday 21st with the under-14s and under-50s categories. The under-XNUMXs team, made up of Paula, Almudena, Zaira, Katya and Anjelina, faced the challenge with barely a month and a half of preparation due to the injury of a teammate. Despite this, they demonstrated their potential and experience, achieving a creditable XNUMXth place out of XNUMX teams, less than one point away from the medals.

Later, the prebenjamin group MI, made up of Lamar, Rebecca, Lucía, Valentina and Emma, made their debut on a national stage. These little girls, barely 7 years old, offered an outstanding performance that placed them among the 20 best in Spain.

The day's finale was put by the prebenjamin group MA, made up of Eva, Ainara, Isabella, Ania and Sara, who with a perfect performance placed fifth. This achievement earned them a national diploma in recognition of their brilliant performance.

On Friday afternoon, it was the turn of the children's team, made up of Sophie, Júlia, Paulina, Sofía, Mandana and Anastasia, known as the “Lionesses”. Despite two major errors in their five-ball routine, they achieved the fourth best score in execution and finished in 28th place out of 114 teams.

Saturday's session was marked by the performances of the junior and alevín teams. The club's veterans, with Tatiana, Ruth, Lucía, Naiara, Valery and Lucy, competed in the largest category of the championship, with 151 teams. Although small mistakes kept them away from the top positions, they remained in the qualification zone for three hours and finished in 29th position.

Finally, the U12 team, made up of Daniela, Polina, Vasilisa, Vera and Alessia, closed Les Marines' participation with an impeccable five-ring exercise, inspired by Willy Wonka. Their outstanding performance placed them in second position with four hours of competition remaining, a position they maintained until the end, being proclaimed Spanish runners-up. They went up to the national podium to receive their medal and silver trophy.

On Sunday, Katya, a gymnast on loan to Club Ribaroja, took part in the First Category of the Spanish Cup. Despite some mistakes, she achieved a remarkable 10th position with her team.

With these results, Les Marines closes a historic season, managing for the first time to qualify more than 30 gymnasts for a national championship. The club is grateful for the effort of the gymnasts, the support of the parents, the tireless work of the technical team and the collaboration of the sponsors, who have been fundamental in this success.
