The boom of glamorous lodging in the interior of the Marina Alta

January 22 from 2023 - 09: 13

Has luxury tourism settled in the interior of the region? This trend has grown throughout 2022 in a general way, although, more than luxury, one could say exclusive. The most unknown and little-crowded places have prospered considerably since the pandemic and this profile fits perfectly with the hotels and rural houses in the interior of the Marina Alta.

They are establishments that, due to their location and size, have become favorite disconnection sites for travelers and even visitors from the same region, who are looking for something different and away from their day to day. This lodging profile is primed to attract attention as, if it sells well, it can represent an exclusive setting full of quirk.

According to the data compiled by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, the presence of rural houses in the towns of the region has not increased significantly. The number of this type of lodging has been maintained, so it can be deduced that they are establishments with years of experience that have been revalued, modernized and have adapted to the most luxurious market.

Away from the crowded coast, the interior of the region offers unique places where the most sophisticated accommodations have proliferated, blending in with the environment and offering something different to the tourist. And this, at present, is linked on many occasions to the typical "with charm" and, in others, to the seal of adults only.

This type of hotel or venue limits entry to minors and sells its product to adults only. With this category you can inevitably increase the quality or, at least, the appearance of the establishment and reach the desired level of elegance or luxury.

Something that is promoted through social networks, the ideal showcase to show those charms and that makes the possible client want to make a guaranteed getaway to that place, for a few days. places highly instagrammable, which attract the attention of the current public and, in addition, create the need to want to show them and, in this way, recommend them.

Hotels and rural houses of this type can increase their price and be at the level of a large luxury hotel, although away from the mass. But the secret may lie more in the opportunity to sell unique emotions that are necessarily linked to the environment.

In Orba, for example, there is a hotel Book which has won the prize for best rural hotel granted by the VII SER Viajeros Comunitat Valenciana Tourism Awards. An example of how towns like Parcent, Vall de Laguar, Vall de Gallinera or Benigembla, where many of these lodgings are located, manage to attract those who yearn to live in the moment with experiences that they will remember for a long time.

Glamor? Monte Carlo style? Amalfi? Cannes? Croatian Coata? Where is it for all of us to see it, ché! A little house?!

You buy a house almost "to throw away" in the middle of nowhere for two duros, it gets pretty and it is sold as glamor what is isolation in the middle of the field. If it strains, the business is more than round, and that is the enormous liquidity of the Dutch, Belgians and others. On the coast, the cost price is different, and the profitability is in the longer term. The important thing: It is a GREAT model for the local economy, since it generates a floating population that rotates every few days and that spends locally, come on, it is the quality tourism that they say is aspired to. Let's see if those who have to know find out.

    • Juan says:

Rent your houses then and go live under a bridge to celebrate the money that floating population of visitors generates for you. That is the quality life you are building.

  3. Catarina says:

10 years ago, in the quiet town of Benimeli (Valle de la Rectoria / Orba), Marina Alta region, there were up to 6 rural houses that offered an alternative to the bustle of sun and beach on the coast. Tranquility, nature, sports, gastronomy, quality and charm, thanks to the effort, commitment and promotion of its owners. Since this sector is practically forgotten by the Valencian Department of Tourism and those responsible in the region. Today only 2 remain in operation. And indeed, there has been a stagnation in the offer where the one who offers something singular survives.

    • Juan says:

If there are only 6 of 2 houses left, it is because they did not have enough demand and that has nothing to do with the Department of Tourism. If people set up businesses and do not know how to run them or there is not enough demand, the business closes.

They destroyed the coast now they are going inland. Could you do an article about the best places to go and live without tourism? Living... Quite a challenge, right?
