May 24 from 2022 - 12: 36

On June 3, the musician Pere Vicalet, native of Gata de Gata de Gorgos, will premiere the work worldwide Peak in Tanz at the Monumental Theater in Madrid. As a digital artist, he will process sounds in real time together with the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra and percussionist Raul Benavent.

The work consists of a solo percussion set, performed by Benavent, and also a set with sensors connected to the computer, which will interact in real time with the sound picked up by the microphones. In this case, it will be the author himself, Vicalet, who will perform the interpretation of these sensors, acting as a digital artist, sonologist and DJ.

Loops, reverse o scratching they are glossaries of the communicative act that a techno DJ performs in front of an audience eager for new and original acoustic proposals. Although from outside the paradigm of electronic music they all appear to be the same, once involved in the sound event, there are always differences or nuances that can trigger synergy towards new multidisciplinary spaces.

The work Peak in Tanz It is consequently a symbiosis between classical music and electronic music, which without forgetting either of the two roots, establishes a sound framework for experimentation and remixing of both styles from a deep knowledge of them.

All interactions result in a kind of sound salad that, although it may not obey any pre-existing canon, it does take resources and ideas from the past to combine them and create sounds of the most immediate present, doing something like "tickling our ears".

La Peak in Tanz is framed accordingly, within an eclectic style since it fuses current aesthetics of music written for orchestra, with resources used in music house.

Music by Mozart, JS Bach, C. Debussy, J. Massenet, J. Serrano, P. Sorozábal, R. Soutullo and P. Sarasate, make up the program of the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, which will be conducted by Isabel Rubio next Friday June 3 at the monumental theater in Madrid.
