Education is committed to educational innovation in the Marina Alta: more than 135.000 euros are allocated to 25 projects

February 27 from 2023 - 14: 43

The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Raquel Tamarit, has visited the CEIP Ausiàs March in Els Poblets and the IES Sorts de la Mar de Dénia to learn about the educational innovation programs promoted by these two centers with the support of the Department of Education.

These centers are two of the 50 schools and institutes in the Marina Alta in which the Generalitat invests a total of 135.293 euros this year, 20% more than last year. 25 educational innovation projects are developed throughout the region related to sustainability and environmental awareness, educational inclusion and the transformation of playgrounds into active and co-educational spaces, school radio, healthy lifestyle habits and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Raquel Tamarit has highlighted that “the work that has been carried out for 8 years by public education is resulting in families being very aware that an important leap has been made. We came from an administration that did not look after public education and we are doing just the opposite. Today the students have free textbooks with Xarxa Llibres; families can send their sons and daughters to school for free from the age of 2; work is being done so that educational centers are decent facilities; We are working so that vocational training is a training option that ensures a good future at work, and that, course after course, there are more teachers in educational centers to better accompany students. We are very clear that we want to continue in this line.

Tamarit added: «In the Marina Alta we have increased the teaching staff by 26% in educational centers with more than 2.500 classmates at the foot of the classroom. This translates, among other things, into better care and educational quality for students, which makes it possible to implement cutting-edge educational innovation projects such as those in Els Poblets and Dénia”.

Els Poblets: 'Connect with our natural instinct' project

'Connect with our natural instinct' is the title of the innovative project being carried out by the Els Poblets school together with the CEIP Santa Maria Magdalena del Poble Nou de Benitatxell, the CEIP Segaria del Verger, the CEIP Cavall Verd de la Vall de Laguar and CEIP San Luis Beltrán de Tormos.

It is a project of grouped centers of two years duration that was born as a result of the development of innovation programs in the environmental and ecological field in an experiential way that the five participating schools accumulate.

The innovations that are being developed and are being put into practice among the different territorial agents are, among others, motivating students with learning and participating in the environmental management of the center and its surroundings, working in an interdisciplinary way, exchanging experiences and reflections with the entire educational community.

The 'Cultural and Sustainable Garden' of the IES Sorts de la Mar in Dénia

The IES Sorts de la Mar is carrying out a global educational innovation project for the center that adds more than 18.300 euros of investment from the Ministry in total, with the aim of revitalizing a cultural and sustainable garden in this institute in Dénia.

It consists of planting plants and sowing seeds in a space of about 2.000 m2 in order to achieve a cultural, sustainable, inclusive, innovative, three-dimensional, historical, theatrical, poetic, musical, touristic, attractive and ambitious garden.

The landscaping and zoning of the courtyard, with a cultural and historical perspective, aspires to create a living museum that "speaks" for itself with the support of explanatory panels (QR code). The proposal includes open-air classes in the various spaces of the garden: a natural Mediterranean holm oak forest, spaces for knowledge, historic flower beds, a climbing area, a stage space, the triangle of the Pythagorean theorem and even a butterfly oasis.

Educational innovation projects promoted by the department of Raquel Tamarit

This course the Ministry invests 2,5 million euros in 714 projects developed by 797 schools and institutes of the Valencian educational system. It is an accumulated amount of 11,7 million euros in 7 courses, to support teachers who promote projects with the aim of transforming, improving and modernizing teaching methodologies from the base.

The Ministry has increased the investment in educational innovation by 530.000 euros, which is 27,5% more than the investment made in the past academic year 2021-2022. With these aids, Education promotes proposals from educational centers that promote pedagogical innovation, curricular and organizational transformations of educational centers, the involvement of educational communities and the impact on the social environment, as well as the promotion of projects that, in addition , are in line with the SDGs.

  1. Mother concerned about education says:

If everyone is with Xàbia, it is left in "borage water", if not, look at the promises of CP Graüll. Tot molt bonic. How long does it take to finish?????
We can look at more centers, but, it will not work, the result is similar.
