Two cyclists from CC Pedreguer and CC Segaria complete the toughest race in England

Andrés Waylett and Vicente Artigues, from the CCPedreguer and CCSegaria, have just completed the great challenge of London-Edinburgh-London by bicycle, an event organized every 4 years by Audax UK, recognized as the toughest event in England with a total of 1540 km and 15000 m of unevenness and ramps of 18%.

They set out from Debden (London) on Sunday the 7th along with another 1700 cyclists from around the world divided into groups of 50, signing up for a total of 20 controls plus one secret.

They arrived at Barnard Castle, almost 500 kilometers from London, where they slept 3 hours, continuing to Dunfermline, 60 kilometers north of Edinburgh. Facing temperatures of 35º during the day and up to 5º at night.

During the tour, more than 700 volunteers attended, cheering, serving food and offering mechanical services, which made the test more bearable. They ended with their arrival in London on Friday the 12th at noon with a total of 124 hours, 4,5 hours before the total time required.

Of the 1700 cyclists who took the start only 650 arrived, due to abandonment, injuries and out of time in general.
