Two similar accidents in Marina Alta: drivers flee after crashing into parked vehicles

February 10 from 2025 - 15: 41

This weekend two similar accidents have occurred in two towns in the Marina Alta, one in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell and another in XàbiaIn both cases, a vehicle travelling on a main road collided with parked cars, causing serious damage, and the driver involved fled the scene without a trace.

The first of the incidents occurred in the early hours of Sunday in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. For reasons still unknown, a car, apparently black in colour (according to the remains of paint found on the affected vehicles), travelling in the Teulada-Moraira direction, collided with several cars that were parked, in the opposite direction, on the main avenue that crosses the town, on Avenida Capelletes. Two vehicles suffered significant damage and the person responsible for the crash did not leave any note or contact information, simply leaving the scene.

The second incident took place on Sunday evening in Xàbia at around 20:20 p.m. On Avenida Augusta, near the Villas de Bolonia residential area, and near the roundabout in front of the IES La Mar, a car collided with another parked vehicle, causing extensive damage to its rear end.

As in the first accident, the driver fled the scene without assuming responsibility. However, in this case, the impact was so severe that the offending car lost some parts, which has allowed its colour and model to be identified, being this car red.

The owners of the affected vehicles have appealed to possible witnesses who can provide information about what happened. They are also asking for public collaboration to locate any recently damaged cars that may coincide with the accidents described.

The local police forces in both towns have been informed of the incident and are on alert to identify those responsible for these incidents and clarify what happened.
