The Provincial Council of Alicante has approved, for the second consecutive year, the granting of aid for the acquisition and installation of Christmas elements that will be distributed among 87 municipalities. The Vice President and Deputy for Culture, Julia Parra, has confirmed "the budgetary effort made this year to reach 60% of the Alicante municipalities with the distribution of 657.000 euros, a figure that doubles the investment made last year."

Julia Parra has confirmed "the success of this call that, in just two years, has established itself as one of the best-received cultural aids". The person in charge of Culture has remarked that "one of the main purposes of the initiative is to help the populations to assume the extraordinary expenses caused by Christmas and give them the possibility of decorating the streets by the hand of our artisans with original works of great quality and beauty.”

On the other hand, the deputy explained "these subsidies were also promoted as a way of supporting the cultural sector and demonstrating that the great work carried out by artists can contribute to improving our municipalities throughout the year, beyond local festivals, and give them an additional attraction that stimulates visits”.

In the Marina Alta, 153.200 euros have been distributed in the town councils of Alcalalí, Beniarbeig, Castell de Castells, Dénia, Els Poblets, Benigembla, Benimeli, Benitachell, Calp, Gata de Gorgos, La Vall d'Alcalà, La Vall de Laguar, Murla, Parcent, Ràfol d'Almunia, Sagra, Sanet y Negrals, Senija, Tormos and Vall de Gallinera.
