The Civil Guard has arrested a couple, a man and a woman, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation that occurred in Calp during the early hours of April 2.
According to the Civil Guard, the incident occurred on a central street in the town, as a young man was returning home after work. The suspects followed him for several minutes and, taking advantage of the limited number of people on the street, assaulted him using violence and threats.
During the attack, the man held the victim tightly by the neck while threatening him with phrases such as "Give me everything or I'll stab you." The attackers took the young man's cell phone and a backpack containing personal belongings.
After filing the complaint, the Investigation Department of the Calpe Civil Guard Main Post opened an investigation. Through reconstruction of the victim's route, analysis of video surveillance images, and the collection of various testimonies, the alleged perpetrators were identified.
The victims were a 32-year-old man from Torrevieja and a 35-year-old woman from Ciempozuelos (Madrid), who were visiting Calp.
Both were located and arrested on April 8 in a park in the city center. After their arrest, it was discovered that they had numerous police records for similar offenses. In the man's case, he was even accused of recent attempted murder.
The detainees were placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction on Duty of Dénia, which ordered his provisional release with precautionary measures.
