Four people wanted by judicial bodies arrested during an agricultural inspection in Pego

January 21 from 2025 - 10: 50

The Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Provincial Labour and Social Security Inspectorate of Alicante, has arrested four people with search warrants issued by different judicial bodies, both national and international. These arrests occurred during agricultural inspections carried out within the framework of the citrus campaign in the Marina Alta.

On January 9, the ROCA Team of the Calpe Civil Guard Company, together with a labor inspector, carried out an inspection on a farm in Pego. During this action, a group of more than twenty workers was detected in a mandarin field, so the agents proceeded to identify them. After various procedures, they were able to verify the identities of all of them, confirming that four of them had pending issues with the law:

52-year-old male: he had a judicial warrant issued by the Investigative Court No. 4 of Sueca (Valencia) for acts related to crimes against road safety.

35-year-old man: he was being sought by the Investigating Court No. 1 of Verín (Ourense) for another offence against road safety, specifically for driving without administrative authorisation.

49-year-old male: he had an order prohibiting him from entering the national territory until September 2027, issued by the Government Delegation of Valencia.

A 49-year-old man: who was the subject of a European arrest and extradition order issued by the Schengen Information System (SIS)-Poland for offences against public order that occurred in this country. After checking the validity of this order with the Office of Request for Complementary Information at National Entry
(SIRENE), it was confirmed that he had been wanted for 18 years for these events.

The two persons arrested for offences against road safety were released after being brought before the court. The other two individuals were placed at the disposal of the competent authorities, following the procedure for their expulsion from the national territory or their transfer to the Polish authorities.

With these actions, the Civil Guard reaffirms its commitment to combating crimes in rural areas, ensuring both the safety of workers and compliance with current legislation.
