The fire that continues to advance and burns a large part of Les Valls de la Marina Alta has forced the residents of the areas near the flames to leave their homes. The inhabitants of the municipalities of Benirrama and Benialí have been transferred to Pego, a town that has provided different municipal facilities to become a shelter.
Pego's solidarity has been noticeable from the first moment, food, drinks and beds have arrived en masse to welcome the hundreds of evacuated people. Pego has provided three buildings (the Espai Veinal, the old institute and the sports center.
Likewise, from the Pegolino City Council they make a call to the citizens in case any neighbor can welcome some of the affected people during this night, since the arrival of neighbors from the Vall de Gallinera and the Vall d'Alcalà is expected. Collaborators can visit the area of the old institute to obtain more information.
Even so, the members of the Red Cross of Xabia are enabling the field hospital to the dependencies of the old institute and in the Ambra school with capacity for 200 people.
